It's alleged that the Bora Uhai phrase is mostly used whenever someone is at loss just to console themselves. In short 'self chocha'

It's used in occasions such as;

  • When one has placed a bet and lost
  • When one has failed an exam/test
  • When one generally gets disappointed on an outcome of events.

2. I Can't, Kent

I can't.. I can not.. 'Digehotta'..

The words with an extra tweng is used when giving up on something/someone. It could either be positive or negative. Kenyans use this word in such circumstances that include;

  • When something has over exceeded your expectation and one is beyond happy.
  • When one is not interested in an event.

3. Shinda Hapo

Used when one has a talk they don't want to keep up with to dismiss the other person(s).

E.g;"..... Wewe shinda hapo hio story iliisha".

4. Ata Sijaskia Vibaya

Used mostly to show that one has not felt displaced or hurt by an act or words. Especially when one is boasting to a friend the friend is in the best position to use the phrase.

5. Ona Huyu

Accompanied by some weird intonation.. it originated from Lamba Lolo and has had viral meme videos, I mean it just has/needs to STOP!

6. Za Ovyo

'....Acha za Ovyo'

Used to dismiss someone who acts or speaks in a silly or stupid way.

7. Mbaya Mbaya

"Acha mbaya mbaya"

Used in circumstances such as;

When one had made arrangements with someone and they try to back out.

When someone talks too much about you with your crush around and the plan was to stay low-key.

8. Ama namna gani

Uses;

When making plans with your friends and seeking their opinion.

9. Form ni gani

When it's Friday and you have no plans, so you end up calling your friends asking for weekend plans.

10. Serikali Saidia

Originating from eye witnesses, the phrase has been in use to make songs to phone ring tones.

11. K or Kk

If you are in for blue ticks and getting ignored well I just gave you a first class ticket to board. How is an Okay too long to key in?

12. Nah

Well you will obviously seem cool but 'naahh' just quit it already.

13. Sup

I mean if you don't feel like checking up or talking to someone just don't do so .

'Sup' to mean 'What's up' Is just a symbol of acting cool yet it ain't cool just annoying.

14. "Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.."

Placing two or more comparisons in one accordance.

Eg; ' waluhya and Ugali one side'
