Kenyan artist Bahati announces plans to run for a gubernatorial seat

Controversial Kenyan artist Kevin Kioko popularly known as Bahati has revealed plans to run for a gubernatorial seat come the next elections.

Bahati made the announcement while performing at an event held at Zetech University where he assured the students that he would be joining their institution to pursue his degree as he gears up for the elections.

The 'Adhiambo' hitmaker however did not fully disclose which county he desires to run for the top position however, people are speculating the young man might be working on joining the race against Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja come 2027.

 

"Nilianguka MP lakini juu na simama governor nakuja hapa kufanya degree!

(I failed to clench the MP seat that I was vying for but now that I am vying as a governor I will come here to get my degree)" Declared the father of 5.

"Mnataka nikuje Zetech? Wangapi mnataka nikuje Zetech

 

(Do you guys want me to come to Zetech? How many here want me to join the university)?" Proudly asked the artist as he went ahead to energetically break into song and move the crowd with his performance.

Bahati's political career began just the other day.

The father of 5 ran for the Mathare MP seat in 2022, he later on tearfully claimed that he had been forced to step down as Jubilee's candidate in favour of ODM's candidate Anthony Oluoch.

Despite all his challenges, Bahati refused to back down and went on to contest the seat which he lost.

After losing the August elections, Bahati denounced Jubilee and went on to join President Ruto's UDA team. He apologized to the president noting that he understands his excellent being disappointed in him.
