Ugandan army General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has just announced that he will be celebrating his 49th birthday a little differently from the pomp and lavishness that was seen last year when he was turning 48.

The president's son took to his favourite social media page (Twitter) to share the news as well as let people know that he'll be turning 49 alongside Rwanda's President Paul Kagame whom he has consistently referred to as his uncle.

The outspoken Muhoozi seems to already have plans underway as his birthday is more than 3 weeks away

“My 49th birthday, 24th April 2023, will be spent in Kigali with Uncle Kagame, just family, and a few friends,” wrote the Ugandan army general.

Hinting that his celebration this time round might be an intimate small event. But we all know Muhoozi and how quickly he changes his mind, so I wouldn't be surprised if he threw a show-stopping party.

Interestingly enough, last year the Rwandan President, H.E Paul Kagame was part of Muhoozi’s elaborate 48th birthday party.

The Rwandan Head of State actually flew into Kampala to be part of the celebrations that were held at the Ugandan State House.

Kagame is also said to have sent several bulls to Muhoozi as a birthday gift.

No wonder the soon-to-be 49-year-old keeps on referring to the president as his uncle.

In 2022, President Museveni’s only son threw a lavish party that was convened by several political leaders, musicians, and personal friends from around the world.

He specifically unveiled a committee to plan his birthday bash led by Michael Toyota Kaguta with Jackie Namuyonga as the secretary.

His party was such a big deal that some roads had to be closed to honour his big day with Kampala Traffic Commander Kauma Rodgers ensuring road users used alternative roads to avoid hiccups to the party’s venue; Lugogo Cricket Oval.

As if the country didn't already know that it was Muhoozi's birthday, the birthday boy went ahead to also erected some banners across the country to announce his invite-only party.

Way to rub it in people's faces.

Days to his 48th birthday, Muhoozi announced his presidential ambition ahead of the 2026 polls.

Ever since he has been actively campaigning both online and with the masses.

Weird to imagine that he'll have a small party this year, guess we will just have to wait and see.
