EMB President Kevin Bahati has ditched Jubilee Party for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) under the leadership of President William Ruto.

On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Bahati paid a courtesy call to UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala.

During the visit to UDA headquarters, Bahati was in the company of Comedian MC Jessy, KRG the Don, Singer Mash Mwana, music producer Kasheed Kid, Dufla Diligon, Rufftone, Diana Marua, DK KwenyeBeat, and Sammy Boy.

“I hereby announce to you that Hon Bahati has officially defected from Jubilee Party and now is officially a member of the UDA Party. Bahati karibu sana,” Malala announced.

Malala went on to urge Bahati not to cry after being welcomed to UDA Party.

“I hope that today you won’t be emotional and cry…this is your home now, feel at home. Here there is no sabotage, this is a party that natures talents and leadership. It’s not a party that frustrates others,”

On his part, Bahati acknowledged that he has been missing in action since the last year’s General Election where he was vying for the Mathare Parliamentary seat.

I know I have been quiet since last year’s election. I was shown dust on the other side. Every day I wake up they tell me to step down or my ticket has been taken away.

That’s why I have joined UDA; it’s a party that respects the youth and talents. I know 2027 UDA doe the first time will win the Mathare seat.

I don’t want to talk too much so that I don’t cry but I came with my wife to control my emotions," Bahati said.

He continued to say;

"I want Thank President Ruto for trusting one of our own (Malala) and to be open President Ruto was the first person to believe in me when I said I want to be the MP for Mathare.

I know I disappointed him (nilikuwa kigeugeu) na pia naomba anisamehe kwa hiyo (I ask him to forgive me for that).

I have learned and I’m happy to be back home as the prodigal so mtu asiseme mimi nilikuwa wakuzimia, mimi ni UDA damu, thank you,”
