Kiss 100 presenters Kamene Goro and Oga Obinna have reacted to the news of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i leaving Twitter.

On Tuesday, the outgoing Interior CS shocked Kenyans after he opted to deactivate his official Twitter account which enjoyed a following of over 1.3 million people.

Speaking on The Morning Kiss, Obinna argued that the CS is a peace-loving man and that is why he had to leave the platform as he prepares to exit office.

“I don’t want to talk bad about Matiang’i, I respect that guy…I think Matiang’i looked at the back and forth that happens on Twitter and said enough. He is a peace-loving guy,” Obinna said.

Kamene interjected saying; “That is somebody you don’t wanna mess with, Mr. Matiang’i we are easy, peace in the Middle East".

Obinna added; “Good stuff where you are going and we wish you well …now that there is a new regime be ready for a couple of changes,".

"May he will be maintained,” Kamene closed the conversation.

Across check done by this writer, indicates that the no-nonsense CS deactivated his account hours after President William Ruto took an oath of office.

It was not immediately established why the CS opted to leave Twitter.

Dr. Matiang'i had consistently been at odds with the former Deputy President Ruto, due to his vocal backing of Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga throughout the campaign period.

Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) had different opinions about the CS's decision, with some summoning Matiangi to say goodbye while others engaged in their customary gist of mocking Matiang'i.

In his final letter, the CS said security personnel put up an outstanding performance during the electioneering period.

He added that his team performed exemplary in facilitating the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct a free and fair election.
