Last weekend, veteran Genge artist and pioneer, Jua Cali made a statement that was taken as an insult to comedian Njugush on Twitter.

Jua Cali mocked Njugush's show in Australia saying that the comedian is not creative in his humour.

Jua Cali has since received a lot of backlash online with many feeling that he was wrong to call out Njugush in public while others seemed to agree with him.

One day later, the rapper apologized to Njugush saying that people misunderstood him, and promised to reach Njugush in person to explain what it meant.

But nominated senator Karen Nyamu feels that the veteran artist should not apologize to Njugush, saying that if he really believes in what he said, then he should stand by it and not apologize.

"So again, Jua Cali has apologized to Njugush... now why should he apologize if he really believes in what he said, or was it just a joke?" Karen Nyamu asked through her Instastories.

On her part, Nyamu admitted that Njugush is a good comedian who is trying to build himself up and show himself on various international platforms, and what he needs is the support of Kenyans and not be beaten to pieces.

"Njugush strives to create and open platforms for those who follow him. He needs the support of all of us," Nyamu said while expressing his frustration with the local entertainment industry.
