Popular musician Kelvin Kioko aka Bahati shared a candid conversation with one of his employees, Baite where they discussed the issue of polygamy.

In the conversation shared on Diana Marua's YouTube channel, the two men appeared to defend polygamy using the Bible as a reference.

Bahati pointed out that having many wives cannot prevent a man from going to heaven, and instead, having one wife may block a person's way to heaven.

"I think one thing that can prevent men from going to heaven is taking one wife. We can come and be told 'Why did I allow David and Solomon to have other wives and you have one?'" Bahati told Baite.

The father of five noted that it is likely that those who have many lovers will reach heaven.

"You know people can think that those people who are shy will not go to heaven, find those who will go to heaven. Now what will we do when we get there," he said.

The 30-year-old singer questioned where it was written in the Bible that it is a sin to marry more than one wife.

He used the example of Solomon from the Bible and how he had many wives and there is still a high possibility that he is now in heaven.

At the same time, he praised the former King of Israel for being able to control all the more than seven hundred wives he had and noted that it has never been easy to live with a single wife.

"If living with one lady is stressful," he said. Bahati is currently married to Diana Marua.

The two got into a relationship more than half a decade ago and already have three children together. However, they are not yet officially married.

Last month, however, Bahati proposed to Diana Marua and announced that they will get married at the end of this year.

While taking the big step, Bahati noted that he has completed all the important steps toward marriage and is now ready to make it official.

"You gave me your heart. To be honest from the bottom of my heart, I don't take it lightly. One thing that I really want to do this year, I just want to make sure I did it right, I know I went to your family for an introduction but this year I want us to have a real wedding and I want to marry you," the musician noted.

On his Instagram page, the musician announced December 12 as their wedding day.
