Multi-award-winning Australian actor, singer, dancer, and producer Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness’s love story has come to an end after 27 years of marriage.
Hugh is popularly known for his role as Wolverine or Logan in Marvel's universe and the X-Men franchise.
The celebrity couple announced that they were pulling the plug on their marriage which was spinning close to 3 decades.
They did this through a joint statement highlighting they had been lucky enough to share a loving union.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the former couple said in a joint statement.
Feeling the need to let in their adoring fans on why they were calling it quits the Oscar-nominated actor and his fellow superstar of a wife highlighted that they were going on a path of self-discovery that called upon them to walk the road on their own.
“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” part of their statement confirming their separation read.
54-year-old Jackman, and 67-year-old Furness, went on to point out that family is a deep-rooted core value in them and they'd ensure things stayed beautiful even with their separation.
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.” the celebrity couple added in lieu with how Hollywood relationship .breakup's are handled.
The statement, signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” concluded by noting that the two wouldn't be discussing their separation any further, “This is the sole statement either of us will make.”
Jackman and Furness met on the set on the set of television series “Corelli” in 1995 and married the following year much to the dismay of convential people back in the days as Furness was older than Hugh by 13 years.
The two Australian actors have two kids together. A 23 year old boy named Oscar, and 18 year old daughter called Ava
Jackman marked their most recent wedding anniversary with a tribute to Furness in April.
“I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me.,” Jackman wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
