Musician Esther Akoth aka Akothee has responded to claims trending on social media that she has divorced her husband Denis 'Omosh' Schweizer.
The 43-year-old musician was sharing a conversation with beautician Kristeen Kuria when she talked about people who claim that her marriage is broken.
In a video she posted on her Instagram account, Akothee was heard wondering why people are claiming that she has divorced her white husband when she herself has not yet said that.
"And why do they think we are divorced? I didn't say we broke up! I didn't say we broke up and they started telling me it was 'Ojingo wa 8'," Akothee was heard saying in the video.
The mother of five continued to joke that another wedding is coming soon saying that her next groom will be called 'Mr Ojingo.'
"From today, I am Mrs. Ojingo. Ojingo is a temporary name while we are still looking for a groom. When you only see the next groom, it is 'Ojingo'. Call the police," she said.
She also did not fail to warn people who pretend to care about her against calling her wanting to know more, noting that she does not owe an explanation to anyone outside her circle of close people.
Akothee's current relationship with her husband Denis Schweizer is not clearly known as she has not yet released an official statement about the status of their marriage.
However, there have been many rumours that the marriage is no more and that they are not on good terms.
Recent actions on social media have fueled the breakup rumours as netizens are desperate for answers.
Some of the things that have left people talking are Akothee admitting that she has not been psychologically well in the past few months.
The singer stopping identifying herself as 'Mrs Omosh' on Instagram, and Omosh's account was deactivated.
The account had about 72,000 followers before it disappeared. However, it is not clear whether the account has been temporarily or permanently disabled.
The singer had already unfollowed the account before it was deactivated and had also deleted several photos of her white husband.
The mother of five had also made several changes to her Instagram account, removing the name 'Mrs Omosh' from her profile.
