Nigerian Afro beats star Ahmed Olalade, popularly known by his stage name Asake has revealed the main reason he joined the music industry was his love for money, no passion at all.

Asake revealed this during an interview he had with Kenyan CNN correspondent Larry Madowo.

The artist who now refers to himself as 'Mr Money with the Vibe' used to be a professional dancer (his real passion) before he became an outstanding member of the Nigerian music community.

On how he shifted from a professional dancer to a recording and performing artist Asake revealed he came to the realization music has more money, the kind of money he'd never make as a dancer and with that he was done.

"The main reason why I left dance was for the love of money," the 28-year-old candidly told Larry who couldn't stifle his laughter at the blunt honesty.

I mean, the dude just recently bought a matte black 2023 Mercedes G-Wagon so he truly has a point.

Asake went on to add;

"I want to be very honest... I love dance, dance is something that I truly love like I can't even do without moving, that is how much I love dance. But see the kind of money I want, I knew dance can't give me, you understand?" the Afro beats star told CNN's Larry Madowo.

Luckily for him, he was equally talented in the other field and he was still able to incorporate his love for dance.

"Both music and dance work together, because in music videos without dancers, the song is boring. Even if you want to make it so gangster and all there will still be a few dancers.

So for the love of money, I'd rather be singing," the 28-year-old said.

On whether he'd solely stick to dance if it paid better or the same as music Asake firmly said no.

He'd still incorporate them together so as to make more money, this is before highlighting that he's been broke before so he knows the power of money.

"I have been broke before, for a very long time so I know the use of money, I know what money can do, for you" Asake candidly said.
