It has been confirmed that Portuguese football star Christiano Ronaldo and his long-term girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez are not officiating things as most people had been earlier led to believe.
Rumours of the Al Nassr football club forward tying the knot with his girlfriend whom he shares 6 kids, began swirling across social media especially X and Instagram following a post from Georgina who also goes by Gio.
On her Instagram stories the model and reality TV star had posted a photo of what appeared to be a wedding invite.
The festive-looking white and gold invite which read, "Announcement! Followed by a letter with a heart emoji and love emoji in an envelope and Georgina Rodriguez 2024,"
The digital invite included a date and time, stating, "Tue/05/March at 7 pm. Riyadh Saudi Arabia," sparked a wildfire with fans of the two speculating that the post was Gio announcing their nuptials.
While Ronaldo’s name wasn’t mentioned in the invite, many believe that the emoji of the heart-stamped letter signifies the name of the sports pro.
Also, the fact that Ronaldo also shared the same post on his page had fans crossing their fingers for a big celebrity wedding.
An air of excitement enveloped their socials with netizens congratulating CR7 for finally putting a ring on it.
It's about time, they mused adding that the fact that the couple has 4 kids together and have been together for more than 7 years.
Christiano's firstborn is from a previous relationship and the couple lost their son back in 2022 shortly after he was born.
Well, the excitement has died down, and a realization that there are no prospects of wedding bells on the horizon has crashed many hearts.
It has now been revealed that Gio's post was just an invite to a jewelry event that she had been invited to.
A friend of the couple took to X to dispel the rumours noting, "The invitation Georgina Rodriguez posted had nothing to do with a potential wedding with Cristiano Ronaldo
