For the past few weeks, coronavirus has taken prominence in every new outlet and just like that no one talks about Felix Orinda aka DJ Evolve, who is still in a critical condition.
The disc jockey who was shot in the neck by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino early this year at B Club, is still fighting for his life at Nairobi Hospital’s ICU.
As of February, Dj Evolve's family was worried about their son’s well being and more so the ballooning medical bill.
This is even after Babu Owino had been ordered to pay Ksh10m million to cater for DJ Evolve’s treatment.
However his family said the controversial legislator had only paid Sh600, 000 prior to his arrest and was yet to more.
Through his Instagram, Babu Owino wrote a statement regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, highlighting an incident where one individual traveled from Italy and interacted with his constituents in Utawala.
This he did before traveling upcountry where he could potentially infect many more people.
Babu wrote :
I have learned with great disappointment of the recklessness of an individual who is widely reported to have traveled from Italy to JKIA, interacted with people in Utawala in my constituency before traveling upcountry and potentially infecting several others.I take this opportunity to first express my solidarity with the people of Utawala. We will stand with whoever needs the support at this time. And I beg and plead with our international travelers returning home, please do the responsible thing and self quarantine. Lives are on the line! Let us be each other’s keepers!
This was followed by a strong question from one of his followers who wanted to know about Dj Evolve's well being.
One, Ndungo Kimanthi asked : How is the man you attempted to kill?
Babu Owino who did not delve into much details regarding the incident quickly replied;
He's healed in Jesus name.
All we can do is hope and pray that the disc jokey is recovering well and that the family has not been left to bear with the huge bill.
