Ras Denroy Morgan who is the father to Grammy award winning reggae stars, Morgan Heritage brothers is dead.
Ras Denroy succumbed to cancer on March 4 at the age of 74.
Announcing the sad news, the Morgan Heritage group announced;
“It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved father and patriarch, The Honorable Bishop Ras Denroy Morgan has ascended. Daddy has been our light, our source of love and joy all our lives.
Our family thank you in advance for overwhelming love and support and we ask for continued prayers as we go through this process. ”
Denroy leaves behind 30 children, 104 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a spouse.
Ras Denroy Morgan kick-started his music career in the 1970s as a member of the Black Eagles, a New York City Reggae band.
In the 1980s, he launched his solo Reggae career and later inspired his children, leading to the birth of Morgan Heritage.
