2022 is finally coming to an end.
And in as much as it was a beautiful year with some incredible highlights it was also a sad year as we lost some iconic souls in the entertainment world.
This is a look at all the celebrities who lost their lives in the midst of the year.
1) Takeoff
The Migos rapper lost his life to gun violence.
On the fateful night the 28-year-old whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Bar was gunned down at Billiard and Bowling in Houston.
He was rushed to Georgia general hospital after he collapsed and later ruled dead.
The coroner's report states that he received a bullet wound to the spine and this was the cause of his death.
2) DJ tWitch
Former Ellen DeGeneres' talk show Disk Jockey, Stephen "tWitch" Boss alias DJ tWitch passed way at the age of 40.
According to reports the "So you think you can dance" super star took his own life by shooting himself in the head.
Closes sources report that tWitch was discovered dead at a hotel in Los Angeles, after leaving his home without his car.
3) PNB Rock
The artist also lost his life to gun violence.
30-year-old Rakim Hasheem Allen popularly known by his stage name PnB Rock was pronounced dead after he was shot while having dinner with his girlfriend at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in a targeted robbery.
4) Yvan Buravan
The famous Rwandese singer whose real name is Dushime Burabyo died aged 27 while receiving treatment in India.
He succumbed to pancreatic cancer
5) Tshala Muana.
The Congolese singer was widely known and adored for her hit song Karibou Yangu.
Her spouse Claude Mashala confirmed the news of her death in a Facebook post but refrained from giving details about the cause of death.
6) Denise Dowse
The American actress well known for her roles in 'Insecure', 'Beverly Hills, 90210' "The Guardian," and "Coach Carter," among other films was announced dead at 64..
The actress succumbed to meningitis after spending about a week in coma.
Her death was announced by her sister Tracey Dowse on social media;
7) Wilfred Maina Olwenya
The death of the 34-year-old was a big blow to the film industry in Kenya and the world at large.
The actor lost his life after he collapsed outside his apartment door.
Olwenya won the hearts of many with his memorable portrayal of ‘Oti’ – as he acted as a crook, leading a criminal gang, that specialized in stealing vehicle parts, in the 2012 Kenyan TV-series, Nairobi Half Life.
The film was selected as the Kenyan entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards making it the first time Kenya had submitted a film in this category.
8) Coolio
US rapper Artis Leon Ivey Jr, popularly known as Coolio lost his life at the age of 59.
The Grammy award winning rapper known for the iconic hit Gangsta's Paradise according to his long-time manager Jarez Posey told US media the artist was found unresponsive on the bathroom floor of a friend's house in Los Angeles.

Former President Mwai Kibaki
The death of the late president was announced by then president H.E Uhuru Kenyatta.
The 90-year-old former head of state died of old age.
Queen Elizabeth II
I mean in her own extent she was a celebrity.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the death of the 96-year-old monarch whom they claimed died comfortably.
Doctors had placed the Queen under medical supervision a day before her passing.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral."
