On Thursday, April 27, 2023 Evangelist Ezekiel Odero, the founder of New Life Church was arrested over the alleged indoctrination of the public.
He was arrested a day after he was grilled for hours over claims his church is also involved in occultism.
Coast Regional Commissioner Rhodah Onyancha said the pastor was arrested in Mavueni, Kilifi County.
She said this was because there were allegations of deaths reported on his premises.
She also ordered the closure of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church.
Pastor Ezekiel is not new to controversy and he has history of attracting massive crowds at his prayer meetings.
In November 2022, he managed to fill Kasarani Stadium to capacity. The man of God is among pastors who regularly drew sizable crowds to any public function.
Among those who attended the Pastor Ezekiel’s at Kasarani service was Pastor Dorcas Rigathi –wife to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
