Kenyan digital content creator Commentator 254 has taken to his Instagram stories to call out fans who flock to public figures' direct message inboxes to beg for money.

The YouTuber in a long post went on to highlight his displeasure with such acts and the entitlement that the people "begging" come with.

"Guys can we at least get something clear and am saying this not to attack anyone or act rude.

Hawa watu hukam DM kuomba pesa manze alafu ukimshow hauna wanakutusi, why do you think kila mtu ako na jina mtandaoni ni lazima akue na pesa?

(These people who come in the DM's begging for money then when someone declines to give you you start insulting them, why do you assume everyone in the limelight must always have money)?" the content creator said.

Commentator went on to add how everyone was fighting their own battles and even though someone appears well established that doesn't mean they don't have commitments.

He further argued that the black tax was a real thing and he participates in it.

"Don't you think watu pia wako na shida mingi wanakimbizana nazo chini ya maji, others we support our families back home pia," started off the YouTube content creator.

"Mimi I actually feel bad msee akinitext "jana sijakula ntumie za supper" but sasa how will I be feeding watu 10 daily na mi kwani nitasurvive aje?

It may sound unkind but imagine jueni kila msee anapitia bills zake kivyake tujitume tu!!!!" The last of his post read.

Commentator now joins the likes of choreographer and professional dancer Tileh Pacbro and entrepreneur Anerlisa Muigai (just to mention a few) who have called out the general public for begging in public figures' direct messages.

They maintain the behaviour is uncouth and people should learn to go out of their way to fend for themselves as said 'celebrities' also didn't wake up and find themselves at the top.
