Grammy award-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid has been spotted outside for the first time since his mother's demise.
The 33-year-old entertainer was seen not only attending a public gathering but a high-profile gathering with the who-is-who of Hollywood for the first time in over a month.
Wizkid aka Starboy was present at the opening night of the private view of "Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto" which was held at the popular Victoria & Albert Museum in London, on September 13, 2023.
Gracing the event Starboy was rocking an all-black Chanel outfit that consisted of a woollen studded flannel-looking jacket and fitting coal black pants paired with a black leather bucket hat and black shades as well. The artist accessorized his look with an icy diamond neckpiece and rings as well.
The said Fashion Manifesto exhibit highlighted the work of the brand’s late iconic founder and designer Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel.
Wizkid mingled with prestigious figures at the event taking in the art exhibits that were not yet open to the public, Chanel couture dresses, textiles, photographs and accessories were on display during this.
The news was broken by the singer's close associate on August 19, 2023, stating that his mom had passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 18, 2023.
Jane Balogun’s death was confirmed by the artiste’s manager, Aare on Sunday. According to Aare, Wizkid’s mother died in the early hours of Friday at 1.30 am.
The late Mrs. Balogun was a strong supporter of her son's flourishing music career.
The news was received with sadness and many took to different social media platforms to pass their messages of condolence to Wizkid and his family, eulogize her as well as pay tribute to her on social media.
