Comedian Fred Omondi died on Saturday morning, June 15th. Fred was brother to comedian and activist Eric Omondi.
He was also brother to Irene and the late Joseph Omondi.
Police said the accident happened after a bodaboda carrying Fred was involved in a head-on collision with a speeding bus around 6 am.
The report further said that the bus was heading to Nairobi CBD from Kayole while the bodaboda was heading in the opposite direction and was on the wrong side of the road.
As a result, the rider collided head-on with the speeding bus. Police said Fred Omondi died on the spot.
On Saturday, his body was transported from Mama Lucy hospital to Chiromo mortuary were an autopsy will be performed today, Monday 17th June.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, at Citam Valley Road. His body will then be airlifted to Bondo, Siaya county.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday 22nd June in Bondo.
Fred leaves behind a daughter.
