Nollywood actor and comedian Mr Ibu was laid to rest on Friday 28th June 2024 three months after his death.
Real name John Ikechukwu Okafor was born on 17th October 1961 and died on 2nd March 2024 while receiving treat at a hospital in Nigeria.
Before his burial, the family had released a planned five-day burial celebration of his life.
The burial ceremony kicked off on Tuesday 25th June 2024 with a match that that involved popular individuals. On Wednesday 26th June, there was a candlelight vigil with entertainment. This event was titled 'Mr Ibu's Night.'
On Thursday, June 27th, there was a Christian service at the actor's home in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, Nigeria.
On Friday, June 28th, the actor was be laid to rest.
On Sunday, June 30th, there will be a thanksgiving ceremony for the actor's family.
