The Azimio political camp seems to be facing a lot of backlash with barely two days left to the general elections.

During their last leg of campaigns today, the political team flew in singer Diamond Platinumz who was then in South Africa with family celebrating his daughters birthday to come perform at their rally.

The plan which was probably meant to wow the youth seems to have terribly failed as Kenyan creatives took to social media to boycott the move as opposed to having the opportunity given to the talents within the nation.

Gospel award winning artist Juliani took to his Insta stories to share how deeply disappointed he was with the Azimio camp for spending millions to fly in Tanzanian bongo artist Diamond Platinumz to  perform during their last day of campaigns.

The 'pages za Bible' hit-maker wrote, " Diamond at Kasarani was distasteful. Any Kenyan talent would have sufficed."

Joining him in expressing his disappointment was popular comedian/MC Eric Omondi.

Eric on his Instagram page posted a paragraph calling out the Azimio camp and Kenyan artists urging them to up their game and standards.

"It's a very sad day for the Kenyan Music Industry. First and foremost let me CONGRATULATE my brother @diamondplatnumz for Continuing to Raise the East African Flag. Kudos bro!!!" Part of Eric's post read.

He then went on to add, " secondly it says a lot that on this very DEFINITIVE and HISTORIC Moment in our Nation non of our Local Musicians was found Worthy!!! I dont blame anyone but the Musicians!!!

Unless our Musicians rise to the occasion and take their place, this will only get worse!!! LISTEN TO ME!!!! I have said this and I will say it again. PUT IN THE WORK!!! We need SHOWBIZ!!! Not these BORING, PREDICTABLE and COMPLACENT things you keep bombarding us with!!!

WAKE UP!!!! WAKE UP!!! I am just waiting for PARLIAMENT to Resume I will do my part and ensure we pass the 75% PlayKE but YOU MUST WAKE UP!!! PERIOD!!!"

Replying to Eric Omondi's post, Sauti Sol's band member Bien remarked, "But we don’t want to be in political forums such as these 🙃
