Comedian Eric Omondi has thanked all those who managed to get him and 17 colleagues out of jail after they were arrested on Tuesday.
Eric and his colleagues were released on Wednesday on Sh20,000 bail each after denying the charge of participating in an illegal assembly on parliament road.
They were charged before judge Lucas Onyina of the Milimani court. Speaking to journalists outside the court, the comedian who was surrounded by many made it clear that Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino was the only politician who helped them to be free again.
"Babu Owino, Thank you very much. Today he sent us money," he said. Eric said prominent businessman Gor Semelango also played a major role in their release on Wednesday.
He said that the musician KRG the Don put a lot of effort to ensure that they were released despite facing many obstacles.
"Bhugaa (KRG) has suffered and went to the IG. He came yesterday with pride, he came to Central Police with money saying he was giving people.
He went upstairs and came back humbled. He encouraged us and said we are leaving. He came out and told me they had been sent to the Inspector General and I knew it was bad, so I knew we would sleep inside," he said.
The comedian also congratulated singer Khaligraph Jones for his great contribution to his struggle.
"Khaligraph Jones. God bless you. Yesterday he called and said he would provide one fighter. He has sent money," he said.
In addition, he dismissed claims by gospel singer, Ringtone Apoko that he donated two million.
Despite the hardships he and his colleagues went through on Tuesday and Wednesday, Eric threatened to take his fight to State House.
He emphasized that his fight is not political but he is fighting for many Kenyans who continue to suffer.
"We will go to the palace with our CVs, and our tax debts, make sure they are on paper. Let's go and look for a job," he said.
The comedian emphasized that a large percentage of Kenyans are suffering with about six million people suffering from hunger.
Eric called on president William Ruto to highlight the many problems that Kenyans are going through and provide a permanent solution.
