American rapper Young Thug's older sister, Angela Grier has passed away.
The sister passed away at a time his baby brother is still serving his jail time in Atlanta.
The death was confirmed by her sister, Dolly White by reposting condolence messages on her Instagram stories from fans.
The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed.
Young Thug has ten siblings, all raised by their mother in Atlanta, Georgia. Thug was born on August 16, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is the second youngest, born 10th of 11 siblings. It is unclear how old Angela Grier would have been but she is older than Thug who is 31.
Thugger and Angela had separate fathers but because they were the youngest of all the siblings they became close as they grew older. When the rapper was a young child their older brother was shot and died in front of their family.
Despite a difficult childhood, Angela's brother achieved enormous success in the music industry. She was one of the most vocal supporters of Young Thug's musical career and she frequently visited his brother in prison.
Thugger was arrested alongside rapper Gunna on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. The charges also included possession of marijuana and codeine with intent to distribute.
Young Thug and Gunna were arrested along with 28 individuals who were named in an indictment associated with the YSL (Young Stoner Life) crew.
While prosecutors alleged that YSL is an acronym for Young Slime Life, a gang that persecutors allege was founded by Young Thug.
The indictment also defined YSL as a criminal street gang founded in 2012 with an affiliation with the Bloods street gang.
Gunna, on the other hand, was released from jail in December 2022, prompting fans to wonder why he was released first as they assumed he had snitched on someone.
Young Thug was denied bail and will be released this year but we are yet to know the exact date and month of release.
