Former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko's firstborn daughter, Saumu Mbuvi has promised to have her name on the ballot come 2027.

The mother of 2 made her desire to follow in her dad's footsteps and try her hand at politics through her social media page in a round of Q&A.

A curious netizen had commented on her stories noting, "You are definitely a leader to watch.... 2027 innit?"

Saumu replied to the compliment by revealing she'd actually thought about it and was ready to run for a political seat come the next general elections.

"I will definitely try my best and; let God do the rest. 2027 lazima tukuwe kwa ballots!

As youths we must take matters affecting us in our own hands and implement the change we want to see," Saumu said, replying to the netizen.

The mother of 2 didn't disclose which seat she was eyeing just yet though.

Saumu tossing her hat in the ring doesn't come as a surprise as her little sister has on some occasions over the past months hinted that her sister was seriously interested in politics and wanted to join the arena.

Her revelation comes just 3 months after her baby sister also made a soft launch into politics as well.

Sonko's last-born daughter, Sandra who is a plus-size model, social media influencer, and budding entrepreneur revealed that she has her eyes on politics and in due time might throw her hat in the ring.

Sandra made the revelation in a rather cryptic post where she uploaded a series of cute pictures of her and the former Nairobi Governor at a date night in a classy restaurant.

In the post, Sandra went on to gush over how she always follows in her father's footsteps very closely all while highlighting that the man is her role model and ultimately she wants to be like him in everything.

"In all the things I try to do, I want to do them just like you, I’m watching every move you make, and I’m trying to take each step you take," Sandra captioned the cute daddy-daughter moment.

Sonko responded to his daughter's Instagram post with a series of love emojis reassuring her of his undying love and support for her.

This comes as a surprise as the price size model has always distanced herself from politics. Five months ago she had declared she had no aspirations or wishes to immerse herself in the political world at all.

She maintained she was working on launching her own business brand as she wanted to own a private jet by the time she was 30 years old.

But I guess, just as the Englishmen say; only a fool doesn't change his mind
