Former BBC journalist Ciru Muriuki has stunned her over 153 thousand Instagram followers with her incredible weight loss transformation.
Taking to her page the journalist who also refers to herself as the millennial mentor shared before and after comparison photos of herself as she opened up about the impact her weight struggles had on her physical and mental health.
"Hey! Look at me. This wasn’t me in December. Swipe to see who I was 6 months ago. Pretty big change, right?" started off Ciru as she showed off the incredible amount of weight she has lost.
Speaking about her journey, Ciru revealed she felt overwhelmed by her weight and made a life-changing decision in February to reclaim her health.
To help her keep in check, she enlisted the help of Nairobi's renowned weight loss clinic, Nairobi Bariatric.
"When that pic of me was taken last Dec, I was SHOOK. I could not understand how I had gotten to that size.
Then on top of that, my health had begun to suffer. My joints hurt, and I could not go up a flight of stairs without huffing and puffing. Let’s not even talk about my mental health.
My confidence was in the toilet and I hated looking in the mirror," Ciru lamented.
The famed journalist maintained she was able to attain her goal in less than 6 months through a combination of dietary changes and fitness routines.
She also gave a shout-out to her friend fitness enthusiast and digital content creator, Maureen Waititu whom she maintains wholeheartedly and kept on encouraging her throughout the journey.
"So in February, I decided enough was enough. I started working with @nairobibariatric and the aim was to get back to a healthy weight.
They have supported me so much during this health journey, and we will have a LIVE this week to talk about what I got done and how it has been.
Special shout out to @maureenwaititu who has been so sweet and encouraging! Are you struggling with your weight? How do you feel about your weight right now? Let’s talk in the comments ❤️❤️" The last of her lengthy post read.
