A Kenyan journalist identified as Ferdinand Omondi has left netizens in stitches and bewilderment after he shared his experience while at Homa Bay's Kabunde Airstrip.

The media personality took to his Twitter page to share photos of their flight and the runway which seemed to have captivated him.

Ferdinand was completely blown by a few things that were completely amiss with the airstrip.

For example, the journalist marveled over the peculiar absence of a ramp, which meant the aircraft was left to casually rest on the grassy grounds.

"I just did my first flight to Homabay's Kabunde Airport (there is no airstrip in Luo vocabulary," started the journalist before going on to highlight a few things that caught his eye while there.

"Buana the runway is freshly tarmacked... you alight on manicured green grass, 10 metres from the arrivals. When did you last alight on green grass?" The rest of his tweet read.

In yet another tweet, he went on to highlight how intrigued he was by the fact that airport officials and a fire truck were on standby upon hearing the sound of a flight.

Ferdinand also shared photos to accompany his tweets so as to better help netizens grasp his experience.

"As soon as airport officials hear the sound of a flight, buana all the orderlies tuck in their shirts.

The fire engine is placed on Amber alert and firefighters are on standby, arms akimbo, monitoring your every move not that they are needed," part of Ferdinand's post read.

He also shared a short video of the terminal, adding that the airstrip's fire engines are always placed on amber alert with firefighters on the ready in case of anything.
