Leaders shouldn't talk like this! Mammito angrily calls out Esther Passaris
Celebrated comedienne Mammito Eunice in a lengthy Instagram post has called out Nairobi Woman representative Esther Passaris after she tried picking a fight with a netizen.
Passaris had joined the close to 10, 000 women who took to the streets of Nairobi to march against the rising cases of femicide around the country.
However, the crowd quickly turned on her chanting, "Where were you?" as well as "Go home!" forcing the politician to be whisked away by her security detail.
What had citizens mad was the fact that Passaris had been quiet all through the month and even when the march was being planned and only showed face at the rally for what most saw as a PR stunt.
An X user after the march shared how she had had a delightful time booing Esther Passaris out of the march and to this, the agitated politician responded with an ounce of ignorance attracting the wrath of netizens... comedienne Mammito being one of them.
"Leaders shouldn’t talk to citizens like this!" the beloved comedian said in part.
Mammito went on to voice out what the general public has been chanting, echoing that the common mwananchi is the one who helped put these people in power and the positions that they are in.
She emphasized that the community was tired of people in power who didn't put in the work and only came out for PR stances.
"WE ARE THE PEOPLE WE THE POWER AND WE ARE TIRED OF LEADERS THAT DON’T WORK!!!
THEY ARE JUST DOING PR APPEARANCES FOR THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA. WE NEED CHANGE AND SYSTEMS THAT WORK," part of Mammito's lengthy Instagram post read.
Finishing up Mammito went on to call out all leaders for their laxed behaviour.
"Your work is not to march your work is to make sure that policies are implemented so that we don’t need to march.
Nini hawa wasee huona wanatufanyia favour na hio ni kazi yao (what makes these politicians think that they are doing us a favour while it is their work and that is what they ought to be doing!" the last of her Instagram post read.
