Ciara, with Russel and Future Junior

Ciara's husband, Russel Wilson has left netizens swooning after revealing that God Himself called upon him to be a stepdad to the singer's firstborn son whom she shares with controversial multi-award-winning rapper Future.

Russel and Ciara tied the knot back in 2016 and have been serving a couple goals together ever since. The couple is blessed with 3 kids of their own but C came with a kid from her previous relationship, 9-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn.

While speaking during an appearance on the "I Am Athlete" podcast the Broncos Quarter Back opened up about his marriage with the A-list Hollywood celebrity and how it is playing stepdad to her kid, whom his wife shares custody with the rapper.

During the sit-down, the 35-year-old NFL player revealed immediately he was introduced to Future Junior, he felt God was talking to him letting him know that not only was Ciara the one for him but raising her boy was also something he was destined to do.

"When I walked in the room and I saw, you know, little Future, he's nine months at the time or whatever, he crawls in my lap and it was like, you know, this is going to be my responsibility," Russ said.

He went on to add that after he left his date with Ciara and her son, he knew there was no looking back. He knew then and there that he had found his forever family and God confirmed it for him.

"I remember leaving that night… and God said, saying to me, 'Raising this child it's going to be your responsibility," the Broncos Quarter Back said leaving his hosts in complete shock upon this revelation.

That is not to say that he wasn't afraid of the task ahead. Russel knew it wouldn't be easy, but that just strengthened his resolve even more.

At some point during the interview, he went on to compare himself with Joseph... yes Jesus's father from the Bible. Highlighting their responsibilities were practically the same.

"I think it was scary just in the sense of... not scary,  but it was more so of an opportunity.

Like, 'Okay God, this is what you want me to do? This is, you know, stepping in to raise, you know, a child with C?' And this and that and realizing that, okay God, like I know she's the one for me but also, I'm going to take this responsibility," added the NFL American Football player calling it a "gift even."

Finishing up on that chapter Ciara's husband noted;

"Like Joseph was a stepdad.... Jesus wasn't biologically his so I'm like, 'Okay God, you're going to -- you're going to have me [do] this? Give me this opportunity to love the way that you were loved?'" Candidly stated Russel, marvelling over his love for his little family and how proud he is for the years they have had together.

On how he knew for sure that Ciara was the woman for him, Russell revealed that she came into his life at the perfect time and the singer fit all the parameters of the woman he had asked God to bring him.

"I never forget, right before I met C, I wrote out my five non-negotiables.

Not to be cold but it's like a partnership. We're going to spend the rest of our lives together, we're going to spend this, we're going to do this together… we’re going to have these kids together, we're going to make decisions together...  And so in any partnership, you got to have your non-negotiables,"

For him, those non-negotiables included his partner being a woman of faith, a faithful person (both to her partner and herself), someone with their own individual identity, a capacity for loving deeply and unconditionally – "the way my mom loved my dad on his deathbed" – and finally, a woman whose presence impacted those around her in a variety of way.

"I prayed about that and wrote it out... I wrote actually on a napkin at dinner... I wrote it out on a napkin and we prayed over it. Three days later, I meet C," a proud Russel said as he gushed over his wife.
