Nigerian Afro-pop vocalist with a ballad-eccentric tone Simi has furiously clapped back at netizens asking her to change her style of singing and adopt something new as they feel that her songs all have the same tune.

The 35-year-old born Simisola Bolatito Kosoko took to her X (formally Twitter) account where she shared her fierce response said fans asking her to switch up her sound, comparing herself to British singer and songwriter Adele.

In the said posts Simi, who is married to fellow Nigerian super star Adekunle Gold asked those who felt like they were tired of her jolly singing to go and find other artists to listen to instead of stressing her.

"Omo because I'm doing girl next door, some of you think maybe I'm ok like that. If you don't like my song, please go and listen to your faves. I'm begging.

If it's the features you want to allow yourself to acknowledge my talent, hear that one and be going," wrote the mother of one.

Disgruntled by the constant talks of her tunes, the artist reminded people that she had not forced anyone to patronize her music calling the hate she was receiving, "uninspired, unbacked feedback," from people who the last song they listened from her was probably from years back.

"I did not force anybody oh Small one that I've said now, they'll say "not everybody will like you" but me I know.

Me sef I no like everybody. But I'm not gonna lie - uninspired, unbacked, tired feedback like "switch up your sound" irritate the f*ck out of me. Meanwhile the last f*cking song you've heard from me is Joromi."

Finishing up the singer/songwriter noted how ironical it was that whenever she does a collaboration with other artists she is always met with high praises but her solo efforts are constantly being criticized.

She reminded people that Adele has been on the same tune for eons but no one has ever called her out asking her to try a different genre from she is used to. Highlighting, people should keep the same energy when it comes to her and her music.

"Then you wait for your idolo on twitter to start a thread about how my verses are fire (on someone else's song) before you respect me. I'm not dragging best with anybody. I make music because I fucking love it."

"Na the same ballad Adele dey sing all these days, her people no disturb am. E fi mi sile. If you don't like what I'm selling, go and listen to the one you like. Unless you don't have data. And if you don't have, owo e lo wa ku si," the last of Adekunle Gold's wife's post read.
