Famous Kenyan actress Kate and filmmaker Eddie Butita have disclosed they will be joining President William Ruto for a state dinner at the White House during his historic US tour.

The trio are expected to attend a luncheon at the Tyler Perry studios in Atlanta, where they are poised to meet the proprietor, Tyler Perry with the intention of discussing ways to unlock Kenya’s film industry.

 

After disclosing the news about attending the state dinner, netizens congratulated them on their big milestone.

This historic US tour will be marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kenya and the United States.

On 19th May, Eddie shared his excitement about joining the President on this significant visit.

 

“I am leaving for the USA today. Thank you William Samoei Ruto, for choosing me to accompany you to the United States of America State visit hosted by the USA President, His Excellency President Joe Biden.

The fact that I’m part of the head of the State delegation is a clear sign, and we are happy that the creative industry is part of the conversations we are going to have during this trip,” he wrote on his facebook page.

Kate actress also shared her joy on her Instagram page about being part of the delegation and she thanked the US Ambassador Meg Whitman for inviting her.

“Good morning. This village girl will be attending the state dinner at White House & a Luncheon at the #TylerPerry studios in Atlanta by invitation from her Excellency #AmbassadorMegWhitman @usembassynairobi your efforts and commitment towards the growth of Kenyan creative economy is greatly appreciated,” Kate said on her Instagram page.
