Budding actress and wife to comedian YY, Marya Okoth is opening up about motherhood and how it has affected her work as a creative.
The first time mom who welcomed her child back in December 2021 marvelled about the joys of being a mom noting that she falls in love with her daughter in new ways every single day.
Marya also highlighted how much she enjoyed being a family person.
"I love the process, every [moment] is a different feeling. I keep falling in love with my baby, with motherhood, with being a family person. Nimegrow (I have grown)," said the award winning actress while speaking to a local blog.
She went on to add that being a mom has greatly helped and shaped her work as a creative as she now has something more than herself to work for. YY's wife while still gushing over the beauty of motherhood revealed that besides helping her find herself in her craft, it has also helped her keep grounded and drop some habits she had from the past.
"I find purpose in my daughter. That is the reason why people even recognize my work. It has given purpose and a sense of direction hata hutanipata nikizurura, (you will not find me up and down aimlessly)" said Maya.
YY and Marya had kept their relationship under wraps for a while, but they went public & shortly announced that they were expecting a baby together. Their daughter, Circle, will be turning 3 this year on the 22nd of December.
