Media personality Catherine Kasavuli has penned a new message – giving an update on her battle with cancer from her hospital bed.

Kasavuli divulged that the past week has not been easy on her side but still optimistic that everything will be okay.

“It hasn't been an easy week for me; I've had one of the most tiresome and extremely painful weeks. But God's faithfulness is everything.

“I'm learning that you can't beat this monster if you let it control how you feel and your hope to see a better tomorrow; your strength and hope in the Lord is what will keep you stronger. There's no otherwise," Kasavuli said.

The veteran news anchor also took her time to appreciate everyone who has been praying for her quick recovery.

She also appreciated Kenyans for contributing towards her medical bill.

“To everyone that's visited me, prayed with me, and contributed towards my medical bill, I want to say thank you so much, and may God meet with the desires of your heart. To all my online community that's always sending messages of hope and love - I love you all.

“Anyone willing to support towards my bill and an upcoming procedure kindly gets in touch on my DM ( Direct Message). However small it is, will go a long way. God bless you.

“Love & Light. Catherine,” Kasavuli updated.

Over the weekend, Ababu Namwamba, the CS for Youth Affairs, Sports, and Arts visited media legend Catherine Kasavuli in the hospital.

The CS paid glowing tribute to the legendary former news anchor at Kenyatta Hospital where she is recuperating.

Ababu’s ministry posted about the visit with photos and accompanied it with a history of the veteran media personality.

Friends are also contributing to the paybill number 8089700 as a way of standing with the veteran journalist.

Kasavuli is hospitalized at the Kenyatta National Hospital, private Wing after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.

"I know I'll fight this. I am currently getting ready for a phase two procedure," she said.

She has been at the facility since October 26, 2022. A colleague at KBC informed Kenyans of her situation.
