Digital content creator, budding actress and brand influencer Carrol 'Sonnie' Muthoni is opening up on why she shaved her signature brown locks.
Through her socials, the mother of one shared a throwback video of her on 8th September 2022 at the barber shop about to undergo the big chop.
Captioning the video she highlighted she had been battling depression and a warped sense of identity for a while and it was driving her insane. So in a bid to center herself, Carol decided to change a big part of her identity.
And you know how the famous Coco Chanel quote goes, "A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life."
Sonnie took the piece of advice and ran with it.
"Aki depression almost took over me. This day I shaved off my identity for transformation. Let me tell you Maina it is not easy," the budding actress noted.
Captioning the video from 2022 Carol Sonnie wrote, "tumenyoa tuone kama mambo itaenda sawa (we have decided to shave so as to see if things will start aligning themselves/ flowing properly.)
Anyways, new look loading..." accompanied with laughing emojis.
Through the months, Sonnie has opened up on the challenges of raising a kid alone, this is after her dramatic split with her baby daddy comedian, and entrepreneur Mulamwah.
A month ago, Carol dropped Mulamwah's surname from their daughter's official name.
"No zote si English names anaitwa Keilah… Please make sure, blogs kujeni hapa karibuni, screenshot this. Keilah is called Keilah Khloe Wangoi Muthoni. Thank you very much for that question," Carol wrote on her Instagram stories while responding to a fan's inquisition on what the kid's full name was.
