Political activist Nuru Okanga is seeking help to pay his child's hospital bills and treatment.

The son was diagnosed with kidney failure and has been hospitalized at the Kenyatta National Hospital for three weeks now.

Okanga, who was recently arrested and detained by the police for over a week, urged Kenyans to help him settle his son's medical bills.

On Monday, July 24, Okanga went live on TikTok to raise funds for his son's treatment but only managed to raise KSh 7,000. The father of two urged the Azimio leaders to help him foot his son's hospital bills.

Nuru Okanga is a known Raila Odinga diehard who always pledge his support whenever any demonstration is announced.

Nuru Maloba Okanga born on April 12, 1976, is a notable Kenyan political activist and staunch supporter of Raila Odinga.

 He hails from the Luhya tribe and grew up in the Kayole neighborhood of Nairobi.

 Despite dropping out of school in grade 3 due to financial difficulties, Okanga returned to education later in life, completing his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2023 at Mumias Muslim Primary School.

Okanga's journey has been marked by his dedication to the construction industry as a worker and his eventual transition into political activism.

 He plans to pursue further education to meet the requirements for his political aspirations, including running for a Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in Kholera Ward in 2027.
