Kiss FM presenter Oga Obinna is excited that his long-time friend Jalang'o won the Lang'ata MP seat.

Jalang'o is a former Kiss FM presenter who was replaced by Obinna after he ventured into politics.

Speaking to Kalondu Musyimi, Obinna said he was first worried when social media users spread rumors that Jalang'o would lose the election.

"I knew he would win, but you know on Tuesday, when those people were doing those things on Twitter, I couldn't even sleep, my stomach was turning," he said.

"In the morning I went to work, I was telling Kamene I don't know where to place my head."

Obinna went on to joke that he was about to pack his bags and give Jalas his job back.

Incumbent Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir conceded defeat on Wednesday morning in a social media statement.

"It's been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation-building and service to the people," he wrote.

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali Centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward. Siasa si chuki. God bless Langat'a."

On Thursday evening, Jalang'o was officially announced the MP-elect from Lang'ata Constituency.

Nixon Korir was also there to congratulate him. Jalas took to social media to thank Korir for what he termed maturity.

"What a man! Thank you @nixtona1 You've shown me what maturity is! I will never forget it! Asante."

"Nixtona1 has handed over the mantle and wished me well......Thank you, bro!"
