Musician Stivo Simpleboy just revealed that his hit-song 'Freshi Barida' is actually a gospel song!
I know, I know... I have also had a thousand thoughts racing in my head. Also it's giving Tiwa Savage saying her hit-song with American RnB star Brandy , 'Somebody's son' is about Jesus.
Regardless of what we think, Stevo maintained that all the music he has been releasing all through is gospel music. Even 'Ni Nani' featuring bong artist Adasa.
"I am a gospel artist, Freshi Barida is a gospel song," Simpleboy said in an interview with content creator Presenter Ali.
He insisted that the lyrics to Freshi Barida are preaching the gospel and that people should listen to it carefully.
Stevo started by clarifying that he is a staunch Christian and not only believes but totally follows the gospel.
"You should go ahead and listen to the song, the lyrics are purely saint and gospel," Stevo said
He then added that he has no problem with his music being played in clubs noting that Jesus was for all so if his music is played in clubs then the better as he ' is spreading the gospel.'
"I have no problem with my music being played in the clubs, Jesus Christ came to save the sinners and so that's the plan," He said.
On why there haven't been any gospel artists featured in any of his music ( keeping in mind he's worked with a handful of secular artists and performed at numerous night clubs) Stevo said it was on no fault of his own. Noting that he has reached out but the person he wanted to work with is still indecisive.
"The gospel artist is still thinking about it if they are gospel artist," He commented.
He went on to insist that just because he does songs on love and relationships does not mean he is not a gospel artist.
"You can't conclude that I am not a gospel artist because I do lovey-dovey songs, even in the bible the book of Psalms they talk about love." He told Ali.
Stivo simple boy finished off by saying that he has a lot under his sleeves and his fans should anticipate new music from him.
" I have new music that I have been working on and my fans will enjoy it. The new music is different from what I do, it's the first type of style that Kenyan artists have never experimented with, you just have to wait and hear," He finished off.
