On yesterday's Drive show with Mwalimu Rachel and Xclusive, the pair engaged in a conversation about whether cat and dog lovers communicate with their pets or if they are just there for fun and companionship.

"Mwalimu, unajua kitu inaitwa pawrenting? I visited my friend over the weekend. You know, ile mtu anaishi mwenyewe. So, ameenda jikoni ananiongelesha kidogo, 'Would you like some juice?' Ni mrembo," Xclusive explained.

"Kidogo naskia, 'What did I tell you?' Mimi niko hapo nauliza, 'What did you tell me?' Because you didn’t tell me anything. Mimi nashindwa huyu anasema nini. Nikaamka, nikaenda jikoni, akona kapaka, okay, a pet. So she is literally talking to this cat. Akasema, 'This is my baby,' kwanza nikachanganyikiwa. Nyau ndo mtoto, how?"

Xclusive then explained that he came to understand this new term called pawrenting, where most ladies and some men seek intimacy in pets that they treat like their babies instead of looking for it in a human partner.

Mwalimu Rachel seemed to appreciate the idea of having pets for companionship, reacting with enthusiasm.

"Let me tell you, they are very serious. There are those who take them for grooming and SPA dates," Mwalimu said.

"What kind of nonsense is this?" Xclusive reacted.

"What do you mean it’s nonsense? I would appreciate someone who has a dog and is treating them as a child. Me, I am a dog person. I tried the whole cat thing, weeh! That thing was vicious. I am a dog person. A dog is honestly a man’s best friend. I feel a dog will feel you more, and if it's a good one, it will also protect you," Mwalimu Rachel responded.

"So, I would actually keep a pet and treat them just like a baby."
