Uganda socialite/entrepreneur and digital marketer Zari Hassan has been forced to come out and address online trolls who were criticizing her reasons for getting married to her young lover, Shakib Cham.
Ever since videos leaked online that Zari and Shakib had had their nikka (traditional Muslim wedding ceremony) netizens have been coming at the mother of 5 intimating that she got married out of societal pressure.
Zari caught wind of the rumour mills spinning and took to her Instagram page to address them asking the haters to stop projecting their misery on her.
"Myself and Shakib get Nikka'd this sat well with a lot of people but there is a certain group of people that will always project their misery onto me.
I'm a very happy person. Naturally, I'm a happy person everything is in place and we got Nikka'd," started off the 42-year-old.
She went on to address the theory that people had that her marriage was out of pressure or she was copying the "chairman of single mothers" Kenyan artist/ entrepreneur Esther Akothee who recently got married in a grand lavish wedding.

Zari wondered why people always felt the need to compare others making it clear that two or more people can do the same thing at the same time, nothing, especially ceremonies, are patented to anyone.
Lol, that just made e think of the Vera Sidika and Amber Ray heated drama over gender reveal parties.
"We got Nikka'd and it's not because of pressure. I am not competing with anyone!
So just because someone in another country got married, normal people are gonna get married? Or was that the first person to get married? Or just because Zari got Nika'd no one else will?" an angry Zari asked addressing all those attacking her.
She finished off by wondering why people always seemed to have an issue with her and her life asking them to heal. "So even the East African babes getting Nika'd today they'll be copying Zari?
Why is it that when it comes to me it's always an issues? People have been married before people have been Nikkad before. But when it comes to Zari when it comes to me, when it comes to Zarinah, it's always an issue okay "
Before the two tied the knot, Zari who is 42 was constantly attacked for dating 30-year-old Shakib but she repeatedly shut down the haters saying Shakib is a grown-up and can make his own decisions.
In a past interview, the light-skinned woman added that their age difference shouldn't be a topic of discussion as there are men who date younger women too but above all Shakib is an adult who can make up his own mind.
"He's not a child, he's been over 18 a long time ago."
